The hotel and the staff were excellent from the very minute we arrived at almost midnight on a Sunday. Do not be afraid or shy to ask the simplest thing, even which is the best open-top tourist bus to book. The hotel itself is modern, extremely clean, bright, and comfortable which is no less than you would expect given its 4 star rating. Despite the description saying it has a sea view, given its orientation this is restricted to the 4 bedrooms with balconies in the side elevation. The beach is superb and located only a couple of hundred metres away over a bridge crossing the underpass which contains the motorway running the length of the coast from the port a few miles away to the south. Due to it being set well below the land level traffic can hardly be heard. The hotel is with a financial/office district and amongst many buildings that were constructed as athlete accommodation and associated facilities for the Barcelona Olympics in 1992, hence the district is known as the "New Barcelona". It is only 2 Euros and 15 minutes bus ride from the city centre on the No.41 which stops outside the 3 restaurants and pharmacy almost immediately adjacent to the hotel. All in all a superb hotel.

As for the hotel itself, there is not tea or coffee-making facilities in the rooms. Otherwise faultless. We arrived in Barcelona on a Sunday evening and sadly there were no tourist information facilities open either at the airport or in the city centre. We followed advice offered by airport, bus company and underground (Metro) staff and took a mixture of bus (Aerobus), underground, and taxi to eventually arrive at the hotel but only after having sought the additional advice of a restaurant proprietor who found the hotel on the Internet for us. However, the following day we discovered that we could have avoided the frustration the evening before by simply getting off the Aerobus and catching the number 41 bus from a stop directly behind some 50 metres way outside the large Banco de Espana building. 2 things to be aware of: (i) 2 sun-loungers and an umbrella on the beach will cost you €17 per day; and (ii) despite having paid the hotel fee prior to travel, you need to be aware of a "City Tax" of €1 per person, per night payable upon checking out. This can catch the cost-conscious traveller out as it did 2 young ladies checking out at the same time as ourselves.
